Scottish Attitudes Towards Child Poverty

On behalf of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Diffley Partnership conducted research on attitudes to child poverty in Scotland through the ScotPulse panel.

This research is formed from 2,185 responses from ScotPulse panel members in Scotland.

Key results include 83% of Scots believe that child poverty should be a top government priority, but only around a quarter think enough is being done about it politically at present.

The Scottish public find three core actions to reduce child poverty:

1. Reducing costs of essential goods and services

2. Ensuring more flexible and affordable childcare

3. Delivering more affordable and high quality social housing
