On behalf of Independent Age, Diffley Partnership conducted the 2024-25 wave of the Older People's Economic Wellbeing Index through the ScotPulse panel. The research tracks the economic wellbeing of older people in Scotland.

The research generated over 1,700 responses from a sample of  ScotPulse panel members aged over 65 living in Scotland.

According to the Index, nearly 1 in 5 older people in Scotland have a household income of less than £15,000 and three in five (61%)  say the amount they receive from the State Pension isn’t enough to cover basic living expenses.
