Older People’s Economic Wellbeing Index: Scotland 2026

On behalf of Independent Age, Diffley Partnership conducted the second annual wave of the Older People's Economic Wellbeing Index through the ScotPulse panel. The research tracks the economic wellbeing of older people in Scotland.

The research generated over 1,700 responses from a sample of  ScotPulse panel members aged over 65 living in Scotland.

According to the Index, nearly 1 in 5 older people in Scotland have a household income of less than £15,000 and only 1 in 4 (24%) say the amount they receive from the State Pension is enough to cover basic living expenses.
